I started using a bit of software to present me with random photos from my collection to sketch in the hope of avoiding choice paralysis. When the reference photo for this one appeared, I initially gulped at the prospect of its complexity. Lots of texture, little details and some serious perspective. Soldiering on, I think I got the balance of technicality and expressiveness about right in this one.

After retracing my route from several years ago by looking at earlier photos, and a bit of Google image search, I identified the location and the name of the mill as Cilwendeg Woollen Mill, so I actually got a proper title for this one.

On a side note, as I write this, part of the mill is up for sale. 11 bedroom home anyone?
