My first visit to Pendine Sands was fleeting on a cold December afternoon. The beach was largely empty bar a few dog walkers, of whom two feature in this scene. This could potentially be any beach in the world, but here in Wales we are lucky to have many long stretches of sandy beaches that become like mirrors when the sand is wet and the tide has just left. I think winter is when the beaches really shine aesthetically with the dramatic light and the sense of calm solitude.
